The Data Collection Through Space Laser Communications
INFO TECHNOLOGY = MOSCOW - First time, the Data Collection Through Space Laser Communications Russian Astronauts on the International Space Station
(ISS) has been sending scientific data using laser communication
channel for the first time in the international world.
This information is reported by the Russian Space Agency Roscosmos or Tuesday (29/1) local time
The information is transferred through the earth's atmosphere with a speed of 125 megabits per second (Mbps) of the terminal laser. A total of 400 Mbps data received including earth imaging and telemetric information.Data transmission is part of the project Laser Communication System for data exchange between the ISS and ground stations Arkhyz in the North Caucasus, Russia.The team consists of astronaut flight engineer Oleg Novitsky various countries like, Yevgeny Tarelkin and Roman Romanenko who is a member of the ISS Expedition 34 team from Russia. In addition, there is a United States astronaut Space Agency (NASA) Kevin Ford became commander and flight engineer Tom Marshburn and Canadian Space Agency astronaut Chris Hadfield.
