TESTING ELECTRONIC COMPONENTS WITH MEASURING TOOLS & REPAIR ( 2 )

                                                                      5. TRANSISTOR

Transistors are among the main components in electronics. Transistors made from germanium diodes 2 are put together. Working voltage of the transistor with a diode is 0.6 volts.

Transistor has three legs are:

emitter (E)
BASE (B)
colector (C)
There are two types of transistors, namely:
1. PNP transistor (anode cathode anode / cathode feet together)
2. NPN transistor (cathode anode cathode / anode feet together)

Transistor example: C 828, FCS 9014, FCS 9013, TIP 32, TIP 31, C5149, C5129, C5804, BU2520DF, BU2507DX, etc.

Symbol in the series: "Q", a symbol of the picture below:

Determining Transistor feet
Determining the Base Leg
Turn the measuring limit of the ohmmeter X10 or X100.
Suppose we call the transistor legs A, B, and C.
When the probe is red / black => A foot and the other probe => 2 other legs alternately and if the needle moves all hubungnya reversed position does not move all of it's legs BASIS.

Foot determine NPN colector

Turn the gauge on the boundary or X10K X1K Ohmmeter.
When the probe is red => B leg and the black probe => feet C. A later foot (base) and leg B is held between the legs with your hands but do not get connected. If the needle moves a bit means that the foot B foot colector.
If the base is already known and colector means foot of which is the emitter.
