The introduction of PCB DesignIn everyday life surely you often associated with electronic appliances such as TV, computers and a familiar of Radio. In the equipment there are many electronic components such as resistors, transistors, capacitor and so forth. You
just try to imagine how to construct an electronic component that may
be hundreds of them that if there is no electronic circuit board,
called PCB (Printing Circuit Board).With
the PCB then the electronic components into a sleek look is not
cluttered and easy to keep track of error or damage if the equipment
someday mangalami disorders.Speaking of the PCB, I was reminded of when I used to sit dibangku junior at around 80's. When it was my electronics teacher assigned me to compose a flip-flop from a few LEDs to make it look neat and nice. At
that time we have not been taught how to design a PCB for electronic
circuits, we are equipped only how to assemble these components with a
piece of plywood which have been perforated with a needle and the
flip-flop is described above.OK back to our subject, the PCB is made of fiber plates coated with copper. When
we first bought a blank PCB board, the board has not seen the path the
path there is only a layer of fiber and copper layer on the surface. There are several types of PCBs in the market that is vacant SINGLE SIDE, DOUBLE SIDE and MULTI LAYER. Single Side PCB board means it only has one side coated with copper plates. Double Side PCB board means it has two side plates are coated by copper and fiber layer exists between the two copper layers. As for Multi Layer type is usually only made by the manufacturer of the equipment. Multi-layer type consists of several layers of copper and fiber are arranged in alternating. For details see the picture below.PCB type sigle sidePCB type DoublesideMultilayer PCB typeOrange color in the image above is the side of the copper plate, while the brown is a layer of fiber. This
copper layer which later became the conductor of one component to
another component, while the fiber layer as an insulator, because it
can not conduct electricity.Connections between components via copper pathways on PCBTo
make the paths on the PCB takes a chemical engineering with the aid of
liquid FeCl3 (Ferric Cloride) process is actually similar to the rock
cliff edge pengkikisan depleted ocean waves eroded by sea water little
by little mengkikisnya. In the world ELECTRONIC this process is called etching. Many ways to do this etching process, such as one is told above. But
for a large-scale industry, such a process above is not a good choice,
because in addition to consuming considerable time the outcome was not
sufficient, for it is usually a large-scale company that uses
electrolysis to produce a PCB is nice and can be processed quickly and results are adequate, but well the process of course requires no small cost. For the Home Industries is the opposite process as manifested above etching is the most inexpensive and easy. For the next tip I will only discuss the etching process in a way as above ie using FeCl3 as catalyst solution. There
is no need at length again now let's start our first PCB manufacturing
project with the manner as described above with the steps below.Equipment needed for our training projects as follows:1. Empty PCB measuring 25 X 25 cm single side type.2. Waterproof Markers (Permanent Ink) brand any Artline example, Snowman, ARROW, BOXI etc..3. 150 g powder FeCl3 (ferric clorida) can be purchased in stores chemicals.4. 500 ml of water, if possible try to use hot water.5. A tray of important free plastic size on the PCB will be submerged.6. Paint thinner to remove the remaining markers7. A brace from bamboo to clamp the PCB to be in the processAs a means of exercise we consider the electronic circuit below.Power supply of custody will be creating its PCBAfter you watch carefully the scheme, let us begin our practice. First
of all you notice is that the electronic components will be on a layer
of fiber while the legs of the electronic components are located on the
copper layer, where the latter leg components will be soldered tin
premises. (See picture above if you do not understand). Thus
the position of the components, especially inside a three-foot or more
such as transistors, ICs and resistors type trimers (trimpot) is
depicted in the position of the mirror, see pictures below for more
detailsPosition PCB layout for the componentshave 3 feet or more is the position of the mirrorWell, if you already understand, we now return to our project. See again the picture above, the series that there are some electronic components are interconnected with one another. The
first action we are preparing a blank PCB and waterproof markers, we
will depict the paths of the circuit with a marker on the copper layer
of the PCB. Later in the final path that we have described with a marker that is the connection path between components. Consider again the following picture.Depiction of the basic lines of the circuit power supply PCBWell the picture above is the basic layout of electronic circuits to be made PCB her. The points will be our white holes with an electric or BOR BOR hand drill with a diameter of 0.5 mm. But also you need to know that more or width of the copper layer is wasted, so the more liquid FeCl3 (Ferric Clorida) needed. So
in order for the use of FeCl3 can be reduced and also that the path
that we make will not easily peel off, then we try to block the
pathways that have the same connection. It does not seem good, but this is better because the lines that we make will look sturdy and not easily peeled off. The design of the PCB so that we become like this. This
blocking up of your tastes, you might create a more beautiful and
lovely home that is not related pathways do not participate in the
Block and also notice should not be too close to another lane.PCB blocking the path to reducing the use of FeCl3The next step after we describe a blank PCB with a marker as described above is set TRAY or of Plastic CONTAINERS. Remember
the container must be of plastic or material that is not made of metal,
because when the container is made of metal will be corroded by liquid
FeCl3 participate.Once the
container is prepared, the input 150 g FeCl3 powder on the container
and the input bit by sedikt hot water (70o C) FeCl3 powder into a
container and stir slowly so that all these Cloride Ferri powder
dissolved in water.Put the PCB design into a container which had contained a solution of FeCl3, use of bamboo tongs to hold the PCB. Kibas-flick
PCB in the solution was to layer the copper on the PCB that are not
covered by the markers come dissolved in the liquid. After
all the layers of copper which are not covered by the markers
disappear, remove the pcb and rinse with clean water until the residual
solution of FeCl3 is no more, after it dried. When dry use the Thinner to remove a layer of markers that are still attached to the PCB, so the results look like this. The end result of the PCB manufacturing processUp here I think you already understand enough about the design of a PCB. There
is one more step to the PCB that we create can be durable and not
easily oxidized by air, then after etching the copper layer that we
seal with LAK or Email or you can also use a varnish to cover the layer
of copper on the PCB to be durable and not easily oxidized by air.As
a means of follow-up of PCB design, you try to follow the tutorial
creation that existed at SPEAKER ON OF ELECTRONICS WORLD page, there
you are also required to make a PCB for the project expressed
electronics. PCB design was as follows. One more thing, if you want to become a professional in designing this PCB. You
can use special software for PCB design are: PCB123, you can download
for free but its a huge file 763 MB when the download could take
approximately 5 hours with an average transfer rate of 25 KB per
second, or if you feel reluctant to download the free software, you can use WINQCAD, this software is widely available in pirated CD shops hahahaha. For download link please forgot my PCB123 your own search with the help of search engines such as Google.Up
here just before the explanation of this PCB design, God willing, I am
going to release a tutorial on PCB design software for professionals.
