STEI ITB-Huawei Training Centre Inauguration 1BANDUNG, itb.ac.id - ongoing cooperation between the Institut Teknologi Bandung and PT Huawei Tech Investment (Huawei Indonesia) STEI ITB manifested in the construction-Huawei Training Centre. Inauguration of Training Centre was held on Monday (11/04/11) at Campus Field Basketball ITB.The inauguration was attended by Ir. H. Tifatul Sembiring (Minister of Communications and Information Technology), Zhang Qiyue (Chinese Ambassador to Indonesia), Ahmad Heryawan (Governor of West Java), Prof. Akhmaloka Ph.D. (ITB Rector), Prof. Dr. Suwarno (Dean of the School of Electrical Engineering and Informatics ITB), Sudrajat (Former Indonesian Ambassador to China), Ma Yue (Vice President of Southern Pacific Huawei Technologies Co.. Ltd.), and Li Wenzhi (CEO of Huawei Indonesia). Also present in this ceremony, the Rector of UGM Prof. Ir. Sudjarwadi, M. Eng., Ph.D. and Director of PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia, Rinaldi Firmansyah. STEI ITB-Huawei Training Centre Inauguration "ITB gave high appreciation for this cooperation," said Akhmaloka. It is expected that these facilities can provide opportunities for students to learn first-hand the development of technology and telecommunications, including the use of internet protocol. Akhmaloka also stated that it is difficult to educate undergraduate engineering without collaboration with business people in that field.Minister of Communications and Information Technology welcomed this cooperation. "The Ministry of Communications and Informatics will continue to try to reconcile between innovation and business," said Tifatul. Information technology now plays an important role in the progress of the nation, seen from the volume of IT business growing, reached 300 trillion dollars every year. Tifatul hope that this form of cooperation is to assist the establishment of a reliable Indonesian community in information technology.Development of training centers STEI ITB-Huawei is part of corporate social responsibility (CSR), Huawei is focused to support the education sector. "Huawei believes in the importance for young people to have the knowledge and skills appropriate to the needs of the times. For this reason, this year, Huawei focused CSR program in the education sector, including the continuing program of cooperation with ITB and other universities in Indonesia," said Li Wenzhi , CEO of Huawei Indonesia.STEI ITB-Huawei Training Centre located in Building 4th floor Achmad Bakrie ITB campus. The training center is equipped with the latest technology, data communications, such as routers, switches, and firewalls.
